Kony 2012

Joseph Kony is the world's WORST criminal. Many people do not know he exists. The Invisible Children Inc. goal is to make this man famous in order to STOP the brutal crimes he is committing.

Please click the link above to read more and watch the YouTube that will tell you what you need to know. It is worth your time. Imagine your child, little sibling, or a child who is dear to you, fighting for their lives for a man who brainwashed them, or forced to be sex slaves.

Family

Other things may change, but we start and end with
family

Rain Boots

My blackberry Hunter boots came in! Yay I can't wait for it to rain :-)

Valentine's Day Treats

Spoil your valentine! :o)

The peanut butter cookies are the same recipe as the ones I made for christmas. I just bought Dove chocolate hearts instead!

The pretzels were super easy too, just a little messy.

You can buy chocolate or white chocolate baking chips. White chocolate hardens much faster, so if you use that, when you melt it in the microwave, add a little veggie oil (or olive or sunflower is fine), just so that it won't harden as quick.

Dip each pretzel rod into the chocolate and use a spoon to spread it evenly all over. (I ran out of wax paper so I had to suffer without!) And lay a piece of wax paper across a cookie sheet. Immediately add your sprinkles so they harden onto the pretzels. (I got super exited with sprinkles and bought tons hehe)

I also used leftover pink candy melts that my sister had and melted them. Then I put it into a little ziplock bag, cut the tip off and drizzled the pink across a few of the pretzels.

It turned out real cute! Your valentine will definitely appreciate :-)

Brownie Marshmallow Deliciousness!

I know, it just looks like a heart attack! But it is SO delicious.

All you need is:
  • Brownie mix
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • M&M's (Or any other chocolate/candy of your choice!)
  • Lots of chocolate syrup
All you have to do is go through the process of making brownies, put them in the oven, etc. When they are about 5-10 minutes away from being done, take them out, and sprinkle marshmallows all over (I brushed a little butter across to give that burnt look). Put them back in the oven until the marshmallows fully melt. When the brownies are finally done, take them out and sprink M&M's all over the top, then drizzle chocolate syrup all over it. Let cool completely, then dig in!

Just spoil yourself! It's so simple and yummy! :-)

Handmade Mickey Mouse Pillow

I made this pillow for my lovebug, just for fun!

It's really easy, just a little time consuming. I got my fabric from Joann's fabrics. They definitely have the best selection of fabrics and most of the fabric is usually on sale.

You can do fleece, or any material you would like. I made a fleece blanket previously, so decided to use a different material for the pillow.

Measure the length of the pillow you're using, and when you go to pick out your fabric, make sure you purchase a little more than what you measured, just to be safe.

I used an old throw pillow that doesn't match my bed set anymore:

I bought the Mickey Mouse pattern and plain yellow fabric as well.

Start out by laying one piece of fabric down and placing the pillow on top, you will have tons of extra fabric, so cut precisely around the edges of the pillow, leaving about 2-3 inches of space all around. Do the same with the other pattern.

Once again, lay the fabric down and place the pillow ontop, and cut a square out of each corner of the fabric, so that it looks almost as if you can fold the fabric into a box over the pillow. (It's basically the same steps as making a fleece blanket.) Do the same with the other pattern. Then cut across until your scissor reaches just before the pillow. Repeat. And thats when you begin to tie the ends together; make sure to double-knot them.

Eventually, you will get this imperfect yet adorable pillow! Voila!

Brownie Cookie Dough Oreo HEAVEN

So delicious with ice cream, mmmm.

First, buy a box of oreo cookies, cookie dough, and brownie mix.

I placed a piece of wax paper down in the pan, and spread the cookie dough completely across it. Then I added the oreos, and lastly poured the brownie mix on top.

Place it into a 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes.

Add any ice cream of your choice, hot fudge or caramel!

Peanut Butter Christmas Cookies

These are my absolute favorite cookies, they're just SO good. And even if you're not a fan of peanut butter, they are still delicious and really easy to make!

I have my green & red sprinkles set out along with plain sugar. (I cheat and use the Betty Crocker peanut butter cookie mix, it's so much easier hehe.)

Just follow the Betty Crocker recipe off of the bag, and when your done. Roll them into little balls and dip into one of the sprinkles or sugar. Cover them completely in the sprinkle or sugar. Place them on a cookie sheet and when the oven is ready to go, pop them in!

You can use m&m's, hershey kisses, any kind of chocolate really. Just make sure they're unwrapped before the cookies are done baking.

When the cookies are done, place a hershey kiss (or any other chocolate) right in the middle of each cookie. Do this immediately after the cookies come out, they take a little while to cool down, so since it's winter I set them down in my garage.

They will turn out like this!

(I brought these to my co-workers on Christmas Eve)

Enjoy, they are scrumptious! :o)

Homemade Vanilla Sugar Body Scrub

I made this for my cousin Lynsey's 21st birthday. I found the idea on Pinterest and decided to try it! It was really simple and only takes a few minutes.

I tried it on my hands and when I washed it off, my hands were SO smooth.

You'll need:
  • 2 Cups of Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cup of Sugar
  • 1 Cup Sunflower Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon of Vanilla Extract
First, mush the sugars together till all of the lumps are gone! Then add the sunflower oil. You can use an olive or vegetable oil but sunflower oil has no scent. Afterwards, add the vanilla extract and MIX!

When your done, put it all into a jar. I found this one at Michaels, they have plenty of cute ones. All of my scrub fit perfectly into this jar.

Enjoy!

This is my first blog post and I AM SO CONFUSED!!
